MagSoc, formally the St Margaret's Society of Queens', is the Queens' College Music Society. Founded in 1884, MagSoc is one of the oldest music societies in Cambridge and has, over the years, hosted informal 'Smoking Concerts' and May Week Operettas, as well as large-scale termly concerts and smaller recitals. Today, the society is home to both Cambridge's largest and longest running non-audition chorus and an exciting new chamber choir, as well as an orchestra, jazz band, and many smaller groups and talented soloists. The MagSoc Chorus joins the MagSoc Orchestra for two large-scale concerts each year, at the end of Michaelmas and Lent terms. MagSoc also runs a weekly recital series in Queens' Chapel, and showcases student conducting in a May Week Concert.
